I have so far got 18 American ones in the city over 130 miles. That’s a little over 22 Imperial MPG, or 13 L/100km if you’re weird. A bit of it was bad gas that was in it when I got the car, so I’d say I’m doing well. Not bad for a 20-year old, body on frame land yacht with a V8.

Not bad at all.

That's a CVLX, right? You'll probably get like 26 on the highways.

I think it’s an S (15" wheels), but yeah. NPI 2v with 2.73s. great economy.

18 City? I’m supposed to get 18 but I barely manage that on the highway.

I do 15MPG/14.6l/100km in my Mark VIII, mainly city driving.

Yeah, yours has an extra valve per cylinder, and an extra gear IIRC.

That's what my Legacy does in the awful traffic I commute in every day.....

I take the Pale Whale, my brother’s 97 Grand Ma, when I make the 700 mile trek to pa and average around 25-26 mostly 75-80 on the highway. It has an exhaust so I also tend to play with the loud pedal alot and love rolling the windows down.
I think with more sensible driving you could push 28 if not 30mpg highway. The NPI 2V isn’t much, but it torques right along through the hills of Kentucky, West Virginia Maryland and Penn’s Woods.
I absolutely love it.

For city mileage, that is totally respectable. A lot of smaller engined cars from the same era don’t do much better. 4spd automatics play a role in that.

That’s fantastic that you’re getting that out of an old modular. Way better than my Blazer does
